What is Venture?
Venture School is the SRVUSD fully accredited public independent study school for students in grades 6-12. As an alternative education school, we are able to serve students whose needs may be best met through study outside of a traditional school setting. The flexibility of the independent study schedule gives students and families the opportunity to pursue personal interests outside the classroom, while engaging in studies that meet the educational requirements of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
Independent study is an alternative method of study, equal in quantity and quality to what students receive in a traditional school. While studying and assigned work will take about the same amount of time as in another school, the when and where, is less restricted.
We have a school counselor and social worker available to provide support and guidance in the areas of academic and social/emotional support. We have a school psychologist and resource specialist; students with special education needs may participate in independent study with the agreement of their IEP team. High school students who enroll at Venture are able to take all of the courses they will need to meet the UC/CSU admissions criteria and to earn a high school diploma. Venture students are able to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities at the comprehensive school for their attendance area.
